Queen's Coronation Day June 2nd 2013

This Sunday June 2nd will see Selby Hands of Hope celebrate the Queen's Coronation. Celebrations will start at approx 11.30am with a procession from Selby High School, proceeding through the town and onto the field adjacent to Morrison's.

There will be swings, rides and entertainment stalls and a afternoon tea tent for a trip down memory lane. Any groups or organisations can contact me if they wish to take part. Our 3 foot big ted will be in attendance and the lucky winner gets to name him and take him home up to June 2nd he will be in different locations in the town.

The day will conclude with a performance from the rock choir at approx 3.30pm and a flash mob with the song 'Dancing in the street' so we are hoping that people of all ages can take part in the day or if they wish to raise funds they can have a pitch at no cost to themselves, but they must call me and not just turn up. our aim is for a day of celebration.

Due to the recent events in Woolwich, Selby Hands of Hope would like to show our support to our troops and anyone that would like to support Help for Heroes are welcome to join the procession. We will also be raising funds on the day for Help for Heroes and will be making a donation to them. www.helpforheroes.org.uk

Anyone that protects us so we are safe are family and one of our own has fallen so please come along and support our boys and girls that make the ultimate sacrifice for us. In the Selby District we have many service men and woman and we need to show our appreciation.

In addition we are also looking for volunteers to help set up from 8pm on Sunday morning and then again to pack away at around 4:30pm.
